A few more feathers in our cap. InfoStretch has been named to the Inc. 500|5000 list of America’s fastest growing companies, and is named among the top 5 businesses of the West by the Business Leader. Earlier this quarter, it was recognized as the top 75 workplaces in the Silicon Valley by the Bay Area News Group. It’s quite exciting to talk about them especially as I reflect back on the early days of InfoStretch. As I talk about these accolades, I am reminded about InfoStretch’s journey from 2004 to here. The challenges, the toils, the struggles and of course the success and opportunities. The journey began in 2004 with a vision to provide high quality software to customers. Like any other start-up story, it began in a small garage but with a big dream and a small tem. The company had established its footprints in the mature enterprise QA market, by servicing a niche market very quickly.
Times changed and it was the mobile age suddenly, and of course the team sensed tremendous opportunity to serve this market with experience from the traditional enterprise market. While the mobile space was and is introducing many changes thanks to a variety of device vendors, operating systems, and screen sizes, the basic premise of testing remained the same. Functional, performance, system, security, and development testing practices still hold true, but mobile brought new challenges to each of these practices by adding platform, screen size, integration, and interface complexities.
The founders picked their brains on challenges in this emerging market to find out what the unique differentiator could be, and the answer was of course obvious – predictability of the application on real devices across a plethora of platforms. There was a huge gap, and the emulators and simulators were not cutting it. It was time to invest in a sophisticated test lab and house it with real device and break away from the simulated experience. The device market grew, and InfoStretch’s test lab grew exponentially. Today, InfoStretch has tested more than 100k apps on more than 3k real devices in its home grown lab.
What was next on the cards? The mobile ecosystem not only required these apps to be tested but also certified before they made it to the shelves. Especially with the explosion of apps trying to monetize in the marketplace. InfoStretch identified this gap, and this led to the birth of its unique certification solution – QMetry ACE. ACE automated the tedious and confusing process of defining test cases for different apps/content and allocating the various combinations of platforms, devices and vendors through their sophisticated interface. And today, InfoStretch serves four of the largest appstores with certification solutions very successfully.
InfoStretch continues to innovate by tracing new gaps in the market. We recently launched MobiXpert as an alternative to crowd sourcing. It is our on demand, self-service mobile testing portal to get a few quick tests done on mobile devices across multiple platforms. You don’t have to go through the long sales cycles and can customize your testing experience with MobiXpert at a very affordable price. And of course, we have the best testers housed in our lab, who are looking are watching your app under the microscope. For more information on how this works, visit mobixpert.infostretch.com
